Whisky Tasting Notes

Nose: Applewood on a charcoal fire brings a herbal, sweet smokiness through which strawberry, rhubarb and citric brightness emerge. Floral honey, fluffy Scotch pancakes and a little dark fruit emerge.

Palate: More bittersweet charred woodsmoke, lemon peel and dried pineapple initially, with sweet tobacco and green grapes developing.

Finish: Dry, smoky and lingering.

Overall: Islay by name, Islay by nature.

For Islay #4, the Boutique-y bunch have adorned the bottle with a scene from the Islay Distillers Boat Race 2008, with a few familiar faces from a few familiar Islay distillers setting sail in their trusty vessels. But who's that in last place?

It's That Boutique-y Whisky Company's very own Jake Mountain in his dinghy, putting paddle to the metal and getting nowhere fast. Oh, dear.
